Look Yourself by ApologetiX

This is a music video, (from youtube, I admit) and it is a bit "hard", but it has amazing christian lyrics! Personally, I listen to anything from old hymns to soft christian rapt. I enjoy this song very much. This is done by a band called ApologetiX, a very talented group who redoes old secular songs.
Hope you like it!!!

No sham-poooooooooooooo

Well... since I'm not allotted my regular shampoo and conditioner because we are testing for allergies, (which it is hard to part with my high quality natural and moisturizing poo's, I know it needs to be done and am trying to take it as "natural" as possible,) my dear mother has researched for me and come up with... drum roll please... no shampoo! OK, a bit weird, but hear me through. You've been my faithful bloggees so far. I still wash my hair and condition it, but I use the "no-shampoo" methood. Confused? Here is how it goes--

No sham-poo recipe:
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 heaping Tbsp baking soda *(OR for every cup of water a heaping Tbsp baking soda.
You can make a larger batch if convenient.)
Bring water to boiling in a sauce pan that allots some room for 'fizzing' up. Once water is boiling, add baking soda very slowly. This will fizz up so you must do it a bit at a time. Once all of it is in and dissolved, you are ready to hop in the shower. Just pour the no-poo in an empty squirty container, (these are sold at walmart also). This "poo" is guaranteed to clean your hair well.
Use: 1/2 c.+ on your hair, squirting it on all over and rubbing it in. Use before conditioner.

No conditioner recipe:
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
You don't have to heat the water for this one, but it may be cold on your scalp if you do not. So its your choice. The acidity of the vinegar closes up the jagged fibers of the hair follicle for smooth, shiny, healthy and natural hair.

1/2 cup+ conditioner on your hair after cleansing,
OR if you have very long hair, dip your hair into a container of the shampoo, and rinse well.
Both these work on straight, curly, or wavy hair. (I have all three, believe it or not.) That's me in the picture.
Note about conditioner: If you have very oily hair, use only 1 Tbsp vinegar in the mix. If you have extremely dry hair, use about 3-4 Tbsp.
